HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A radio signal being transmitted out of a submarine base is likely behind reports of garage doors failing to open and close in southeastern Connecticut, the U.S. Navy said Monday.

On the 18th of April, 2012, Radio Amateurs will celebrate the World Amateur Radio Day on the 87th Anniversary of the founding of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU).
This year's theme for the World Amateur Radio Day is: "Amateur Radio Satellites: Celebrating 50 years in space" in remembrance of the launching of OSCAR 1 on the 12th of December 1961, and OSCAR 2 on the 2nd of June 1962.
Note: OSCAR stands for Orbiting Satellite Carrying Amateur Radio.
