Plus bring along your DMR HT radio for re-programming to include new settings and callsigns.

Dick was educated at Stratford Technical High School, Taranaki, then joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force at Blenheim as a Boy Entrant. Later after two years study at the RNZAF Electrical and Wireless School, Wigram, Christchurch, coupled with service at Defence Main Signal Centre, Wellington, he graduated RNZAF Communications Fitter.
See you all at the BBQ on Thursday 30th, from 6:30 at Khandallah Park. Entrance is from Woodmancote Road, past the swimming pool and head about 100m towards the TV tower.
This is a BYO, but there should be a bbq to cook on for you.
Chairs or a blanket or something to sit on is recommended, as is a drink, sun hat and any toys that are suitable to show off.

Today the Rangituhi - Colonial Knob AIS service was restored to service after a failure of the VHF receiver. Coverage from the site has been gradually deteriorating over the last few months.
Last weekend a working bee installed a new VHF marine band antenna at the site. The new antenna is a PD220 Celwave Super Stationmaster with a gain of 5.25 dBd (7.4 dBi) arranged with a 6 degree electrical downtilt.

AREC has a public facing website AREC Today with general interest stories designed to inform non-amateurs about AREC and what we do. It's also designed to highlight interesting material for key stakeholders, such as the AREC SLA partners including the Rescue Coordination Centre RCCNZ, Police, and NZ SAR.
Meet at the gate from 6:00pm for transport. Only 4 wheel drive vehicles are permitted to travel up, so carpooling will happen on the night. Dress for a mountain top in the roaring 40s at night, which it is Supper will be on site.
Co-ordination will be on 710, DMR and P.25

For more than 25 years, first analog then P25, the 147.075 MHz (+600 kHz split) repeater has covered the north of Wellington, New Zealand. The original machine was a home made crystal controlled 10W design by Peter ZL2ARW but the site now features a 100W capable Motorola Quantar.
