Our speaker this month is Bruce Emirali, The N.Z. Defence Force Spectrum Manager who will make a presentation on and discuss the Defence Force planning and use of radio spectrum. He will cover the planning aspects, and the strategic and tactical use of radio spectrum by branches of the Defence Force in the delivery of their defence roles.
Bruce was employed as the Defence Force Spectrum Manager in the final years of his Royal New Zealand Air Force career. He held the rank of Warrant Officer on his retirement from the RNZAF. He subsequently continued his job in a civilian role. He has served as Defence Force Spectrum Manager for some time, so he has a unique history in this particular field. He has also represented the Defence Force at many national and international radio conferences. He has always had a positive view toward sharing spectrum with the Amateur service.
He was to have spoken at the recent VHF Convention held in Wellington, but unfortunately couldn’t make it. So, we are privileged to have the opportunity to hear him speak on this interesting topic at the August Branch meeting. Visitors welcome!
