There may be some disruption to Belmont services over the next week.
A number of trees have grown up into the 11kV supply line to the Belmont site and present a significant forest-fire hazard to the landlord's forest. As such the power has been disconnected. Until the power can be restored it will be attempted to run reduced services on a combination of batteries and a mobile generator.
As far as is practicable the National System services will be maintained. The ATV repeater will be tuned off. Depending on the load 710 may be turned-off, in which case please use the 7075 voice/data repeater.
There will be significant effort required to ferry in generator fuel on a daily basis. Please contact Peter Cobb ZL3TC on 04 938 3386 if you have a 4WD and can provide assistance.
The need to take such drastic action is regretted, however with the very dry conditions we are currently experiencing, the risk of forest fire is too high for the 11kV line to remain energised. Your committee is making efforts to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
