AREC have commenced a concentrated New Zealand wide training programme. The first AREC training day was held at Camp Kaitoke on Saturday 8 September with 52 attending from the lower half of the NI attending along with representatives from WLSAR and Police. The day was run by AREC National Training Officer Daniel ZL1DFA and organized by the Group's AREC section.
AREC faces a wide range of demands on its members well beyond our traditional communications role. This broader role embraces all aspects of radio, Information & Communications Technology (ICT), radio regulation legislative compliance advice, and assistance with inter-agency liaison. ICT demands, in particular, have been driven by the growing deployment of communications and search management tools such as IMan.
My thanks to all who helped with this event, particularly to my wife Bev.
