May is the time for remits. The Committee has looked at the remits and made comments further in this Q-Bit. Please bring your Break In to the meeting. We will also be appointing a delegate for the AGM, and will discuss any issues members may want the delegate to put forward from the floor.
Our guest speaker this month is Andrew Bate, the Humanitarian Technology Programme Manager for Red Cross in New Zealand. Andrew will present on the technologies in use by Red Cross, how it is deployed. The Red Cross deploy teams to major disasters around the world, and a major component of these teams is communications. Andrew will also cover the Christchurch and Kaikoura earthquakes and international Red Cross responses.
Andrew has expressed an interest in our activities with DMR for AREC events.
