World Amateur Radio Day 18 April 2011

Each year on 18 April, radio amateurs celebrate World Amateur Radio Day. On that day in 1925 the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) was founded.

In 2011, the theme for this year’s celebration is Amateur Radio: The First Technology-Based Social Network.

In ZL-land, our own radio network is the UHF National System, so the Group is issuing a QSL card for contacts with the special event station ZL2WARD.
