June 2013 Meeting - Wellington Repeater Sites

Our trustees will talk about the repeater sites the Group operates from and a few more that are used by other branches and radio users. Some sites are shared, some are our own, some are ready to go but not on the air.
We would like some more photos so if you have any photos of our sites please email them to zl2wa@clear.net.nz. All trustees and supporters are welcome to speak and show.

February 2012 Meeting: Paul Wade W1GHZ

Paul Wade W1GHZ

This month our speaker is well known author of microwave articles Paul W1GHZ. Paul has written many articles on microwave construction and antennas with a big focus on 10GHz. Of particular note is his work in the subject of feedhorn and antenna matching. His articles have appeared in QST and QEX.

Paul will be speaking on current activity in the US, 10Ghz projects that are possible using today's available technology and encouraging amateurs to get active building on 10GHz and above.

Land SAR Radio Training Night Thursday 15th December 2011

As a follow up from the last time we ran this event and people wanted another chance to attend, we are running a hands on training evening with the Land SAR radios.

We will look at the Tait hand helds, the portable VHF repeaters, the portable HF stations and the field base VHF radios.

We will also have a look through the new Radio Procedures Guide, which has the background info you need to be able to speak the same language as the Land SAR field teams.

7.30 PM at Tawa Community Centre in the Boardroom. (same venue and time as the main meetings).
Followed by supper.

This Thursday 24th of November, we have a technical presentation of current projects by a member.

September Meeting - Dishes, feeds and Mounts

The September meeting will be a talk will be on Dishes, feeds and mounts. If you can bring a dish along that you have made or have you will be welcome to talk about it. If you have photos these can be displayed and you can talk about your set up. We will also look at where you can get dishes from, and mounting them for home and contest use.
