AREC in the news

Two news items this month worth sharing.  The first is a great story that appeared in The Dominion Post and available here:

http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/68482763/the-unsung-heroes-behind-successful-wellington-and-wairarapa-search-and-rescue-missions.html

The story highlighted the often unsung volunteer contribution made to search and rescue by LandSAR and AREC with reference to a couple of recent searches here in the Wellington Police district.  The story is particularly noteworthy because it points out that Police tend to get the credit for searches rather than civilian volunteers quoting Senior Constable Tony Matheson from Wairarapa Police.

The second story is on the AREC.today web site here:

This story covers work done by Ray ZL2RAY and John ZL2HD through AREC and the Wellington Wanda Search Trust.
